Videotel Digital Introduces HD2700 M DVD Player with USB, SD Playback

By Rory Lidstone, Contributing Writer

Videotel Digital is a manufacturer of industrial digital signage media players like the VP71, industrial DVD players and interactive digital signage solutions. This week, the company introduced a new product that falls under its range of industrial DVD players, the HD2700 M. Unlike other industrial DVD players from Videotel, the HD2700 M offers a broader range of playback options.

Indeed, Videotel is touting the HD2700 M as “the market’s first industrial grade seamless auto looping DVD and digital media player combo unit with a built-in scheduler to time content with interactivity.” In other words, like any industrial DVD player, the HD2700 M is designed to provide flexible functionality for public venues—like the product’s scheduler, which is designed to automatically power on, auto play and seamlessly auto loop content. As such, the HD2700 M will auto repeat as long as it’s been scheduled to without the need for manual interaction.

However, what really sets the HD2700 M apart is its ability to handle digital content from a USB or SD card, making interactive signage nearly as flexible as a computer.

“The HD2700 M is perfect for those displays that require the flexibility of displaying content with a DVD, USB or SD card reliability and with a true seamless auto loop, timed content or interactive content. It just doesn't get any easier [than] with the HD2700 M,” said Lisa Schneider, vice president of marketing and sales at Videotel Digital.

Aside from its auto and manual play features, the new Videotel all-in-one media player boasts rugged durability, allowing it to handle 24/7 continuous use with an estimated lifespan of over six years. It also handles full native 1080p HD video and can upscale standard definition content with a built-in upscaler.

The HD2700 M’s timed scheduling feature is achieved through the creation of a simple text file. This file can dictate start and stop times and only needs to be loaded on the same USB, SD or USB media device as the files being played to work.
