SwitchRay's CTO to Hit ITEXPO with Revenue-Protection Tips for Carriers

By Steve Anderson, Contributing Writer

Revenue is the lifeblood of business. It creates cash flow, which in turn allows all those necessary options of a business to carry on in earnest, from marketing to research and development to sales and beyond. Protecting revenue is therefore one step behind growing revenue in terms of importance, and Dr. Colin Ayer—chief technology officer (CTO) of SwitchRay (News - Alert)—will be hitting ITEXPO to talk about just how to protect revenue at the carrier level.

Dr. Ayer will be presenting a panel on Wednesday, January 27, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale titled “Protecting Carrier Losses Due to IP-PBX (News - Alert) Fraud,” an issue which has meant quite a number of problems for organizations for some time now. Several tips will be presented during the panel event, and deliver some much-needed insight into how to protect against the fraud that can effectively loot businesses.

That won't be all the protection that SwitchRay has in mind, though, as SwitchRay is also an exhibitor at ITEXPO (News - Alert). Its material can be found at Booth #203, and have an array of products on hand. Visitors will be able to see not only SwitchRay's new Class 4 and Class 5 softswitches, but also SwitchRay's new SR-P7000 fraud detection system, and its new hosted private branch exchange (PBX) management tool. Just to round it out, on January 27, the company will offer a drawing for a 500-port softswitch system. Since SwitchRay's softswitch systems include several extra features like session border control operations, least cost routing systems and other routing mechanisms, this should prove a prize a lot of users are interested in.

SwitchRay's CEO, Steve Petilli (News - Alert), is looking forward to seeing new faces at ITEXPO, and also showing off just what its various tools can do. Petilli also said “Our goal has always to been to address the evolving needs of our customers and provide them with cutting-edge technology and effective reliable business solutions.”

Protecting revenue has always been important, and keeping potential fraud out of a system goes hand-in-hand with the idea of protecting revenue. Having systems like SwitchRay's on hand makes for a much better likelihood of catching such problems early before such can grow to disastrous lengths, and end up costing a lot more than anyone would want to voluntarily take on. Early detection makes for an easier problem to solve on a lot of fronts, and IP-PBX fraud is no different.

Stopping a problem in its tracks—nipping it in the bud, to borrow from a certain Mayberry deputy—is vital to ensuring that no problem ever becomes a big problem. Tools like SwitchRay's can be a huge help in that regard, and those who put such tools to work will likely be glad it was done when fraud starts to emerge in a system.
