Comings & Goings Week in Review

By Steve Anderson, Contributing TMCnet Writer

It may have been a short holiday week thanks to Memorial Day, but even with this much-needed breather in place, it still couldn't stop the flow of key personnel moves in businesses. With the ebb and flow of personnel comes potential changes in the way business operates, so considering how these changes can impact wider business operations is worth considering. Now that another weekend is at hand, it's a great time to consider the impact of personnel changes, a process that we'll make a little simpler by running down the biggest events in Comings & Goings with our Week in Review coverage!

First, we had a look at SmartAction, who brought in Steve Prodger to serve as its senior vice president of sales. Prodger has over 14 years of sales management experience to his credit with a particular focus on enterprise SaaS (News - Alert). This in turn made Prodger's appointment a smart move for SmartAction, since the company's particular focus is on a line of artificial intelligence voice self-service products. SmartAction previously took a CUSTOMER 2014 Product of the Year award for its SmartAction IVA system, an intelligent voice automation system.

Then we had a look at Shravan Kumar, who recently signed on with Voxox as the company's new vice president of systems engineering.  A man with over 15 years of field experience in both legacy and next generation networks, both wireless and IP-based alike—including seven years at Mavenir Systems (News - Alert) and positions at Motorola, Sonus and Telesoft--Kumar is set to not only tackle systems engineering, but also will reportedly working with the product teams and marketing teams in order to step up Voxox's current product line—especially the successful Voxox For Operators program--as well as throw in on future product developments.

Finally, there was something of an unexpected development as Detroit firm LevelEleven made some huge advances in terms of hiring this week, with plans to do plenty more in the near term. The company had recently made big strides in terms of bringing in new clients and making new strategic partnerships throughout the industry, and in support of that, brought in a new vice president of sales, Scott Shepard. Additionally, the company also brought in Mark Eaton (News - Alert) to serve as vice president of customer success and Kyle Gostinger to serve as product manager. But LevelEleven has plans to hire many more people before it's all said and done, including a vice president of marketing, among others.

That was the week that was in Comings & Goings, and even with a short week there was plenty going on. Our global online community was right in the thick of things, watching for word on departures and entrances and bringing said word right back here.
