The market for communications-enabled apps is building on a sense of momentum, according to recent reports. The outlook for real-time communications is strong. For instance, one report said the real-time communications platform market is predicted to reach $4.7 billion by 2018. In addition, Smith's Point Analytics predicted that 56 percent of mobile developers want to integrate communications into applications.

Into this environment comes Bit6, a communications platform, which is now in beta version. Bit6 plans to launch the communications platform by mid-summer.

Bit6 “has been greeted enthusiastically since launching in March at SXSW (News - Alert) Interactive,” the company said in a recent statement. Bit6 plans to release its iOS SDK by April 30.

Also, Bit6 was presented at Monetizing OTT Services 2014 in London and at START Houston Startup Demo Day. Bit6 will also make presentations at the Service Provider Innovation Forum in May, too.

In addition, Bit6 is giving many app developers early access to the Bit6 platform. Bit6 lets developers integrate communications into apps with a real-time, cloud-based platform. They can add such features as voice or video calling, texting, and multimedia messaging as well.

The Bit6 platform provides Identity Management, Social Map, and Virtual Wallet.
