U.S. Governments are (Finally) Going Cloud Bound

The U.S. government is pledging its allegiance to cloud computing, and for good reason.

Dr. Rick Holgate, president of the American Council for Technology (ACT), recently told Forbes that the cloud is one of the most disruptive technologies transforming the U.S. federal government. In addition, an incredible 44 percent of governments have already deployed—or will soon deploy—server capacity within the cloud. And 85 percent of local government IT workers believe the cloud will have an impact on their computing infrastructure in the near future.



Given its multitude of unique benefits, it’s no wonder the cloud is penetrating the government from the local to federal level. Take a page from the U.S. government and see if cloud-based technology (for example, a hosted phone system or hosted PBX (News - Alert), among many other solutions) may be right for you for a number of reasons.
