Nakivo Version 4 – in the forthcoming enterprise and cloud provider editions – will have multi-tenancy and exchange objects recovery.

The multi-tenancy feature gives enterprises and service providers the ability to protect businesses and customers via a single interface.

"Nakivo’s multi-tenancy and self-service is unique for the VM (virtual machine) backup industry and this is truly disruptive technology for hosting, cloud providers, and MSPs by enabling them to offer VM Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Replication-as-a-Service (RaaS), while better controlling service levels and expenses," George Crump, an analyst for Storage Switzerland, said in a statement. "But that is just the beginning, once VMs are backed up or replicated to the cloud provider’s datacenter, the cloud provider can also provide Business Continuity-as-a-Service (BCaaS) and Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) to drive additional revenue streams and further support their customers."

Individual businesses or customers will have access to their own data through a self-service interface, too.

In addition, Nakivo can scale in large data centers to give protection to more than 1,000 VMs and give support to hundreds of environments – even with 2,000 or more miles between the endpoints.

Enterprise and Cloud Provider editions of Nakivo Backup & Replication v4 will be available in 2013. Businesses are looking forward to the new features.
