OnAir Offers Solution to Help Travelers Stay Connected

By Oliver VanDervoort, Contributing Writer

When it comes to using a whole horde of different gadgets on a plane, it seems as though the rules are about to become more lax. If and when the FAA actually does relax the use of phones and tablets on planes, travelers are going to want to have access to all the tools that their mobile gadgets can offer. OnAir (News - Alert) is one company looking to offer up technology that will allow Wi-Fi use for tweets, e-mails and Facebook updates.

Companies like OnAir and Boingo Wireless are working hard to make sure that travelers are getting the most out of the mobile devices that have become part of most people’s normal day. OnAir has managed to come up with a solution that will allow people who are well versed in checking their phone the ability to do so even when they are involved in air travel. Studies show that 70 percent of passengers on airplanes carry a phone or other mobile device. Those same passengers tend to check their phones an average of 150 times a day.

Being on an airplane shouldn’t be one of those times when people are separated from the rest of the world. OnAir’s solutions make sure that people are able to stay connected even when they are at 30,000 feet. The service offers both GSM and WiFi (News - Alert) capabilities, so that people can make sure and not miss a beat. Those same studies show that 94 percent of passengers bring some kind of mobile device on an airplane. Whether for entertainment or communication, OnAir makes it possible to enjoy travel that much more.

The solution that OnAir is offering up means that people can use their mobile devices in the exact same way as when they are on the ground.
