Kickstarter has been a great platform for people with creative ideas to get the funding they need. Many of these successful ideas have been accessories for tablets and smartphones. A new Kickstarter campaign falls right into that category: BubblePod, a new accessory for your phone that allows you to take great 360 degree panoramic photos.

BubblePod is essentially a windup turntable. It sports a silicon phone grip designed to hold a variety of phones across different operating systems. Since it is a mechanical clockwork mechanism, there is no battery and it is activated with the push of a button.

BubblePod works with BubblePix, an app that allows for panoramic photos, which is free and is available on iOS, Android (News - Alert), and Blackberry 10. The pictures you get, called Bubbles, can also have a piece of audio recorded with them. This allows you to give commentary on the setting or you want to record the sounds of the ocean along with a panoramic shot of the beach. These Bubbles can then be shared with friends across social networks and even be embedded into your blog or website.

"When stitching apps try to create panoramic photos," explains Pete Corke, Head of Business at BubblePix, "they do so by merging together separate images as you pan across a scene. But it's impossible to keep your 'phone perfectly level as you move it, which creates an inherent variation in the final photo. The BubblePod keeps the rotation exactly level, and uses multiple high-resolution frames for perfect full 360º every time.
