With Wednesday’s latest release of iTunes, Apple (News
- Alert) fixed a few bugs and issues. iTunes 11.0.4 is now available for download from the Mac App Store. It will be provided through Apple’s website.
The previous update, 11.0.3, came out last month. That version brought a new revamped mini player featuring artwork and a progress bar. That update also included some improvements to Songs View in the software, support for multi-disc albums, as well as a few other features.
According to a statement from Apple, this new version of iTunes has a new MiniPlayer, which now includes a beautiful new view that showcases a user’s album artwork. In addition, a progress bar is now built right into MiniPlayer. This version also includes improvements to Songs View, allowing users to additionally view album artwork while in Songs View.
With the Multi-Disc Albums function, albums with multiple discs now appear as a single album.
That last update actually fixes a problem that was causing iTunes to quit if a user was switching between wireless and wired syncing. It also addresses an issue that sometimes required users to log into the iTunes store repeatedly during the same session.

As you can see from the description of 11.0.3, these don’t really appear to be new features, but more of a maintenance check and bug fix. The two biggest fixes were the syncing problem and staying logged in to the iTunes store.
The last major update to version 11 came out in November 2012. That version featured a complete overhaul of the applications design. It also had a new storefront and tight integration with Apple’s iCloud suite of services.
