'eMazing' New Site Makes Idiot-Proof Presentations Possible

By Ben Bosco, TMCnet Contributing Writer

For those who may be very adept at getting all of the information that they need in presentations laid out, but when they format it and try to get artistic it just looks like a hodgepodge of hokey graphics, poor font choices and lackluster themes, Israeli company emaze.com may hold the solution to that.

emaze works is a website that one can make presentations on. It offers you themes and screens that are reminiscent of neither Prezi-level dizziness and disorientation nor PowerPoint’s staid, boring slideshow.

Instead, it provides an engaging platform where you can add images, gifs, shapes, and almost any form of text you desire. Because this system is HTML5-based, there’s no confusion about what systems can use it, which can occur with versions of PowerPoint. It is instead supported on any device that can access the Internet, much like a Prezi presentation. However, unlike a Prezi, this program offers themes that aren’t just a series of colors and lines. emaze themes also can incorporate animation in their designs and can assist in trying to figure out how to format the information. For example, their “City Nights” template takes the viewer on a flight through high-rise buildings in a rainy city at night while the text and images are being displayed in front of it. emaze seems to be at the vanguard of cool new designs, all the while promoting concise text to give the designs room to breathe.

emaze was started by CEO Motti Nisani, CTO Arie Livshin and VP Shai Schwartz in 2009 with an $800,000 endowment from Israeli startup booster The Time, which deals with tech startup businesses across Israel. Nisani said of the program “There are 500 million people using presentation tools. It seems like less than 10% of them actually know how to work out impressive, engaging presentations, it is the rest of the 90% who desperately need a helping hand. Today, we are happy to invite them to emaze.com and see the new platform we have built. We believe that its superior graphics and usability experience, together with its accessibility from any device, make emaze a convenient and efficient choice for presentation creators everywhere.”
