Software as a Service Market Will Hit $14.5B by 2018

By Oliver VanDervoort, Contributing Writer

The booming global Software as a Service (Saas) market will only going to continue to grow, according to a new study by a firm known as Transparency Market Research. The fact that this particular market is growing every day really shouldn’t be much of a surprise when you take it all in. The new study shows that SaaS (News - Alert) is expected to surge by about 17.9 percent by the end of 2018. If the market does hit that level of growth, revenues will be topping $14.5 billion.

There are all kinds of different ways to use SaaS solutions, and that is one of the reasons that there has been such a surge in demand. Hosted call centers are just one of the markets that can take advantage of the SaaS boom as a way to supplement what the employees at the call center are already offering up. Maintenance and troubleshooting can be handled more smoothly when implementing a top of the line SaaS solution that can take over the day to day operations.

More companies, especially enterprise level companies, are seeing their IT departments calling for SaaS upgrades and this has led to the growing market. The study shows that most of the growth through 2018 is actually going to be occurring in the North American region. That doesn’t mean that Asia-Pacific is going to get cut out, however. Businesses in this region are learning to embrace players in the market like Microsoft Office 365 and Intuit (News - Alert). With these two companies alone, firms are able to run their entire office through the cloud.

The Transparency Market Research report shows that expanding needs in the technological market are making it necessary for firms to go outside their own offices in order to get solutions such as Office 365 to come to their aid.
