EA Unveils The Sims 4

Playing The Simshas long been a favorite way for many people to spend their free time, whether they are doing so on their PC or their mobile device. In a world in which many people favor free downloads (both legal and not), many users still see The Simsas being worth spending $50, as evidenced by the record-breaking sales of The Sims 3 in 2009, at which time the game sold 1.4 million units during the first week that the game was legally available (despite a leak, which resulted in 180,000 downloads before its official release).

In fact, EA has just revealed that The Sims 4 will be coming to PCs and Macs in 2014. In the company’s post announcing The Sims 4, EA Staff wrote, “The Simsfranchise is fueled by the passion and creativity of its millions of fans around the world. Their continued devotion to the franchise ignites the fire of creativity of the team at The SimsStudio, driving them to continually improve and innovate on one of the world’s most successful simulation games…” To honor their top fans and the inspiration that they provide, EA held a special VIP briefing “where several of the world’s top fans were amongst the first to hear the news about The Sims 4.”

What exactly fans inspired the team behind The Simsto do is at this time unclear. However, it has been announced that The Sims 4 will be a single-player, offline game. Fans of the game are encouraged to stay up-to-date with all of the latest Sims 4news at http://thesims.com/en_US/thesims4.

With $70 million in sales during the first week debut of The Sims 3, EA no doubt, has high hopes for its upcoming release. The Sims has a loyal fan base and with five years between the release of the third and fourth installments, many players will be eager for more details about this latest installment.
