What's on Tap for the GENBAND Perspectives Summit?

By Rich Steeves, TMCnet Managing Editor

This week, the company, which specializes in developing multimedia and cloud solutions, is in the midst of its customer and partner summit, dubbed Perspectives 13. The event, which kicked off yesterday in Orlando, Florida and runs through Thursday, brings together thought leaders, industry veterans, analysts and media in addition to those already in the GENBAND (News - Alert) fold. It promises to provide insight into the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the cloud communications industry.

The first day of the event was primarily a networking opportunity, and the meat of the program begins today. Executives from GENBAND including chairman David Walsh and president and CEO Charlie Vogt (News - Alert) will address attendees on the topics of the future of smart networks.  Today’s program also features keynote addresses from Tony Melone, CTO of Verizon, Tim Wagner, VP and GM of enterprise sales at Samsung (News - Alert), and Mallik Tatipamula, VP of service provider solutions at f5 Networks.

There are also several panel discussions on tap for today on topics like harnessing the power of social networking and liberating the cloud. Social networks and the cloud are topics on the minds of just about everyone in the industry, and getting input and perspectives from companies like Salesforce.com, SAP (News - Alert), HP and other thought leaders will provide valuable insight.

Also today, there will be a Solutions Showcase of innovations from GENBAND, application developers, ecosystem partners and leading technology companies like Polycom, IBM, Intel, Ericsson (News - Alert) and more. We also expect announcements from GENBAND throughout the week.

TMC CEO Rich Tehrani is in attendance at the event, and will be blogging his perspective throughout the week. Expect updates and insights from Tehrani as he gives his perspectives on the messaging and thought leadership he’ll see at the event and what it means for enterprises, service providers and end users throughout the industry.
