Mobile Facebook Pages Get an Upgrade

By Robbie Pleasant, TMCnet Contributor

Statistically speaking, you probably spend at least some amount of time on Facebook (News - Alert). If you’re among those who have yet to get sucked in, then you can skip this article (also, good job evading it so far). If you are among those who use Facebook, you might have noticed that Facebook Pages looks a little different on mobile devices, thanks to a new layout.

The new mobile pages layout for Facebook Pages includes several design improvements for page owners and visitors alike. These provide a cleaner look, as well as improved ease for finding important information, interacting with the page, and organizing posts. The updates are available via mobile browsers now, as well as the Facebook iOS app, with the Android (News - Alert) app to receive updates soon.

For page visitors, they can expect to see a new and cleaner look for the pages themselves, optimized for mobile viewing. With this new design, the relevant information is included first and foremost, so it’s easy to find the important things, like locations and pictures. Also, the top of the page includes actions such as Like, Message, and Share, making it easier to interact with the page from a mobile device.

For page owners themselves, they’ll be seeing pinned posts, such as offers or videos, placed front and center. There’s also improved mobile management capabilities. Owners will be able to switch back and forth between admin and public views. As such, they can make sure their pages are looking good and ready for public use.

There’s no need to do anything to prepare for these updates, but it is always important for page owners to make sure their information is proper and up-to-date. Since the updates are already available, it will be easy to prepare the page to meet the new layout and design parameters to provide the best look possible for visitors.
