As a Star Wars fan, it’s not easy to write an article about the upcoming Star Wars pinball game without using a corny title. I considered “Obi-Wan Kenobi: Crazy Old Pinball Wizard,” “That’s No Moon; It’s a Pinball,” and “Do or Do Not. There is No Tilt,” before I finally settled on the above. Still, the prospect of a new Star Wars pinball game was enough to send tremors through The Force, as if millions of voices had suddenly cried out in excitement.
Before I get to the nitty gritty, check out the official trailer for the game below:
The brand new Star Wars Pinball game from Zen Studios is due out later this month and will feature content highlighting my favorite Star Wars flick (The Empire Strikes Back), as well as everyone’s favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett.
Star Wars has always had a strong presence in the video game space. Since the debut of the Star Wars arcade game in 1983, through entries on the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 (a personal favorite of mine, Shadows of the Empire) through to the most modern of consoles, the franchise has delivered a wide variety of games. There have been racing games, first person shooters, side scrollers and more. It’s nice to see a gold old fashioned pinball-style game.
The new pinball game will feature different tables, interactive 3D characters (including Luke and Anakin Skywalker and Boba Fett) and a social function that will allow players to post their high scores and challenge friends to multi-player games.
The new game will be available from the Apple (News - Alert) App Store and Google Play. For more information, click here, and, of course, may the Force be with you…
