Leatherface Steps off the 3D Screen to Meet Fans in Norwalk, CT

By Rich Steeves, TMCnet Web Editor

3D technology is all the rage in movies today. From the Na’vi of Avatar, to the dancers in Step Up 3D, to the piranhas (and more) from Piranha 3DD, we love to watch interesting and exciting images jump off the screen and into our faces. But most of the time, this is merely an illusion, and we are safe and sound in the theater. But what if Leatherface, the killer from the new movie Texas Chainsaw 3D jumped off the screen and into a town near you? Would you scream and run or ask him for his autograph?

Well, you can’t come face-to-Leatherface with the killer himself, but you can meet the next best thing: the actor who played him in the new film. Actor Dan Yeager will be in Norwalk, CT on Sunday, January 27th to conduct a meet and greet with fans. The event will take place at the DoubleTree Hotel, located at 789 Connecticut Ave in Norwalk, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Admission and parking are free, and the first hundred fans to arrive will receive a free movie poster. Every 30 minutes there will be giveaways of items from the film, and Yeager himself will be surrounded by actual props and costumes from the movies. Fans will be able to get autographed photos of the star for a fee.

The movie brings 3D technology to a story of a man from Newt, Tex. who dons a mask of human skin goes on a killing spree with his weapon of choice. “This film is pure escapism. It’s full of surprises for horror fans and Texas Chainsaw devotees. Audiences who enjoy a thrill will enjoy the new movie, as well as the clips and cameos by the original cast,” said Yeager in a statement.
