Swann Platinum's Mega Storage

By Jody Ray Bennett, TMCnet Contributing Writer

Swann Security has unveiled a whopper of a security system that can be integrated to PCs, laptops and smartphones. A true innovator in its own right, the company also has a knack for releasing these cool gadgets at a cost friendly price.

According to one report, its latest security system “packs four 1080p cameras, 2TB DVR for $1,600.” Specifically, the system is massively impressive. Consider the bells and whistles:

  • The systems include four of the latest NHD-820 surveillance cameras, each capable of producing 1080p HD video or, using security industry terminology, 1000 TV lines (2.1 Megapixels) lines; image quality far in excess of typical security cameras. The cameras also have powerful night vision up to 115 feet and can be used indoors or outdoors. The new Platinum-HD NVRs also have power over Ethernet (PoE) so that the cameras take their power and transmit video using CAT5E network cable, making them easier to set-up as they do not need a separate power connection for the cameras.

Based in Australia and led by David Swann, the company has quickly grown to one of the highest revenue generators in its industry. Sales are steadily on the increase because they are not only affordable, but high quality (in terms of footage), versatile, and durable.

Offering remote viewing function, users can establish a connection via their smartphone, home PC or notebooks, or smart tablets. A two TB hard drive backs up thousands of hours of storage, allowing users to scan back through months of captured video given a security breach.

Set up of the system is very easy, and the company boasts about how simple it is to establish. Once installed, the company offers an array of apps and downloadable file accessories to supplement these systems. Leaving no rock unturned, these security systems will truly act as Big Brother while residents are away from their precious items or property for extended periods of time.
