Americans are, quite simply, obsessed with Apple (News - Alert) (News - Alert) products. According to statistics from www.CouponCodes4u.com, $1 out of every $25 spent on tech gear is spent on Apple products.
Noting this, the site conducted an online survey to gauge consumer attitudes and why they ultimately purchase Apple products over other tech products. Mark Pearson, the chairman of CouponCodes4u.com, described their motivation for the study in a recent statement; “We were interested in discovering how much Apple products we sell through our website, CouponCodes4u.com. We were shocked to discover that not only were Apple products searched for heavily on the site, but also that $1 in every $25 was spent on Apple products!”
Of the 1,901 respondents, 58 percent said that they purchased an Apple product in the last year (of those, 45 percent had purchased an iPad, 21 percent had purchased an iPhone (News - Alert) (News - Alert) 5, 18 percent had purchased a Macbook Retina, and 16 percent had purchased an iPod Nano).
There were a number of reasons that the respondents chose Apple products over their competitors. The majority (51 percent) responded that they purchased Apple products because they believe them to be the best on the market. 27 percent responded that the discounts Apple offers students lure them to the company and 22 percent responded that it is the app market Apple has to offer.
Reflecting on the results of the survey and his own sales figures, Pearson stated, “With such high sales, it is safe to say that Apple is the brand to beat this holiday season!”
If things continue go the way that they have been in the holiday shopping season, Pearson’s prediction will prove to be true. According to cnet, the Microsoft (News - Alert) (News - Alert) store at Mall of America had 47 percent less foot traffic than the nearby Apple store on Black Friday (News - Alert).
