Social Media Command Center Services from HootSuite

By Shankar Pandiath, TMCnet Contributor

HootSuite, a social media management platform, is now ready to offer Social Media Command Center services. HootSuite’s social media management program is used by several companies, big and small, to coordinate their marketing across multiple social networks. The services are designed by HootSuite to control and centralize social media messages for organizations in a simpler and visually appealing way.

Matt Switzer, vice-president of Partnerships at HootSuite, said that this new addition is very visual and HootSuite’s Social Media Command Center is the result of a six-plus month trend the company has observed of businesses implementing similar services. More brands are moving away from campaign-based social marketing to managing things in-house, Switzer added.

The new offering features large-panel analytics displays that will provide real time updates and social media status of organizations. It will also show social conversations that take place on different social mediums about the brand in real time. The displays will be able to pull in data from customer support systems, salesforce and other sources according to Switzer.

HootSuite is presenting and promoting the center as a place where businesses can “listen & monitor, publish & engage, and analyze & measure.” Businesses will be in a better position to strategize and will be able to make informed decisions based on available data. Rather than just setting up analytics displays, HootSuite will be thus providing a comprehensive solution to the businesses.

Differentiating HootSuite’s offerings apart from others, Switzer said that HootSuite’s solutions have a broader, “holistic” approach to social media. He added that the command centers will provide more than just a place within an organization to engage with customers externally. “We see our command centers as a way to engage employees as social advocates for the brand,” added Switzer.

It will be tailored to suit the needs of individual organizations. Pricing structure will be disclosed soon. According to Switzer, prices will be based on current HootSuite enterprise pricing structure. HootSuite’s new addition is all set to be offered as a part of HootSuite’s enterprise subscription options. The centers display offerings will have different structure with separate pricing options.

The current state of business relating to social media is evolving rapidly, according to HootSuite’s Greg Gunn. “More recently, we see more traditional parts of the organization adopt social media such as sales in order to make a lasting connection to clients, and human resources for managing internal and external communications,” Gunn explained.
