It was announced at this week’s ITEXPO Austin 2012 that United Network Services, Inc. (UNSi) has appointed Stephen John as its vice president of sales. In assuming this position, John will be responsible for growing and managing the UNSi sales team. With 25 years of technological experience in the cable and telecommunications industry, John’s seasoned expertise will play a critical role as UNSi continues to redefine the telecom space with its leading MPLS and VPLS exchange platforms.
UNSi, a next-generation carrier and provider of extensive MPLS and Ethernet solutions, is exhibiting at booth #734 at the Channel Vision Expo (CVx Expo), an event collocated with ITEXPO (News - Alert), the world’s largest communications and technology event.
CVx Expo at ITEXPO was strategically designed to help channel players and wholesale service providers develop partnerships that cross traditional lines of business to provide all players with the opportunity to expand their service portfolio through new suppliers and relationships with other types of service and equipment distributors. Not only does CVx Expo offer educational opportunities and rare insight, but it also offers channel partners with a perspective on how to adapt, what to sell and how to sell within this ever-evolving communications ecosystem.
John served as the original founder and primary driver behind the company’s initial success as it transitioned into becoming one of the largest U.S. broadband aggregators today. Recently, John served as president and CEO of Cheetah Technologies, a long-standing global provider of carrier-class, systems-based, broadband quality assurance. There, he provided management systems to broadband network providers and videos service providers.

"Stephen's heart has always beaten for the success of UNSi, and it's great to get his enthusiasm and passion solely back in our court. The depth of his knowledge and maturity within the cable company space will be invaluable over the coming years as the telecom industry continues to consolidate and the lines between Cable and Telecom become less clearly defined," stated Allan Schwartz (News - Alert), SVP of Strategic Planning & BusinessDevelopment. "We are thrilled to have him back at the company playing a strategic role in supporting our aggressive growth strategy," he added.
Currently, UNSi currently holds 18 strategic POPs located nationwide with over 150 network-to-network Interfaces (NNIs), as well as agreements with 2,000 networks providers.
