HootSuite App Directory Now Includes ZenDesk, Evernote and Storify Plugins

By David Gitonga, TMCnet Contributing Writer

HootSuite has redefined its app Directory introducing App Directory plugins. By bringing new functionalities of ZenDesk, Evernote (News - Alert) and Storify, the HootSuite App Directory will offer users more social interaction with external third-party applications, in contrast with previous stream-based App Directory tools.

App Directory plugins now enable users to send social media content to third-party apps, saving time and clicks by syncing social media to apps. Imagine that you find an interesting how-to article and you don’t have time to go through it at the moment. Now all you have to do is save it for later review.

Alternatively, you can now take social content and convert it into Storify elements or Zendesk tickets for support issues. All App Directory applications are free to the nearly five million users of HootSuite. The new apps can be installed from the dashboard after logging in.

Once installed, they are ready to be used immediately.

With about 71 percent of people turning to the Internet to look for a solution to a product and with 62 percent of them using social media for customer service issues, the Zendesk app plug-in will provide a timely and efficient solution. This popular cloud-based customer service software that receives over 65 million customer queries through its Zendesk-powered customer service teams will now offer seamless ticket creation from Twitter and Facebook (News - Alert) message streams. The Zendesk plugin will help take the conversations offline where privacy is required or where more time is needed to resolve user requests, all within the HootSuite dashboard.

The archiving and note taking application, Evernote app for HootSuite provides an excellent way to create notes from social media content and offer the ability to manage notebooks within streams. By bringing up all your notes, the app allows a user to not only view, edit and delete notes, but also share them over their social networks with just a couple of clicks.

The Storify app for HootSuite will continue to advance Storify’s ability to curate content from social media posts into compelling website and blog stories by conveniently adding social content from Twitter (News - Alert) and Facebook streams to Storify stories.

For example, users can now monitor a Twitter keyword search stream for a specific hashtags and easily compile these social eleents about an event.

The tight coupling between HootSuite and integrated plugins greatly extends the power of both of these tools. HootSuite intends to add more apps and integrations for CRM, publishing/content curation, customer support and digital marketing in the future.
