When it comes to the iPhone and its larger brother the iPad it seems like all of the attention goes to the newest versions. It has the most social cache and it gets the most airtime from the media, even when it has yet to come out. So move over owners of the iPhone (News - Alert) 4S, you are not the coolest thing going anymore. Or, at least you will not be the coolest technology user on the block for very much longer. Apple (News
- Alert) is about to make your technology the second best for the time being.
According to information that was first reported by the folks over at iMore, Apple will be making a fairly large announcement about both of those devices. The company will show the world the newest versions of devices, which will be offered the mobile market a little bit earlier than expected. The company is set, according to this information, to make the big announcement on the 12th of September. Then the actual device is supposed to be released on the 21st of the same month.
The big news in this new announcement is the iPad Mini. The iPad Mini is set, according to rumors, to be a much smaller version of the current iPad, designed to compete with smaller tablets on the market. The iPad Mini is designed to make a more portable version of the iPad for pocket use, but after rumor related to extreme heat issues on the previous version of the iPad, the device may actually be stalled while design issues like this are looked at more in depth. Though for the time being some other journalists are saying that the announcement will only be about the newest iPhones, instead of about the much rumored iPad Mini, for which many are waiting.
