CumuLogic Powers Java PaaS Cloud Application Platform 1.0

By Ed Silverstein, TMCnet Contributor

Recently it was revealed that CumuLogic is now offering its CumuLogic Cloud Application Platform version 1.0 for the Java Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).

Now generally available, the new product can transform virtualized environments and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) clouds, such as Citrix CloudStack, OpenStack and VMware vSphere, to PaaS, the company explains in a statement.

That means deployment and management of mobile, Web and enterprise applications in private and hybrid clouds is made simpler. It also increases productivity for developers, making it less expensive to manage applications on clouds, providing DevOps collaboration, and makes migration of applications to clouds, public or private much less complex.

CumuLogic President Mike Soby described CumuLogic Cloud Application Platform 1.0 as “the most robust, vendor-independent platform on the market today.”

It also received praise from customers, too. “After evaluating several PaaS offerings, we found that the CumuLogic platform provided the most valuable extension for our CloudStack clients and we’re looking forward to building deep practice competency around the integrated solution,” says Giles Sirett, a managing consultant and founder of ShapeBlue.

“We are very pleased with the ease of integration that we’ve seen with the CumuLogic product,” Matthew Porter, CEO and a founder of Contegix added. “Working with CumuLogic provides for a natural extension of our MiraCloud platform and delivers on our commitment to deliver robust technology in a very flexible way.”

“As one of the first CloudStack partners to be certified Citrix Ready, CumuLogic remains an important ecosystem partner for us. We believe that Platform-as-a-Service is a key element to driving greater cloud ROI for our customers, and we’re very pleased to see that market maturing even further with this product release from CumuLogic,” Peder Ulander, vice president of Product Marketing, Cloud Platform Group, Citrix Systems (News - Alert) commented.

CumuLogic is a PaaS provider of software for enterprises, cloud providers and ISVs (independent software vendors.) It develops and deploys Java applications in public, private and hybrid clouds.

In other recent news, CumuLogic has partnered with CloudEnable to offer a PaaS Center of Excellence, which lets “organizations … leverage PaaS as the key layer of cloud computing to improve developer productivity, lower operation costs and speed up time-to-market,” TMCnet reported in a recent article. Soby added that, “PaaS is critical for delivering the highest ROI [return on investment] from cloud adoption.”
