Google to Release Techno Infused Eyewear

By Lyndsay Krisel, TMCnet Contributor

Ever wanted to be a superhero when you were a kid? How about a police officer or a fire fighter? Certainly you thought about it or played the role of a totally awesome, undercover, secret agent. Well, if not, someone else sure did. Google (News - Alert), Olympus and Apple will soon bring secret-agent- style eyewear with a built-in display and video camera to the market. It sounds a little “undercover” right now, but the companies promise that it will boom in the market.

When connected to a smartphone, the virtual screen can project any online information from reviews of a nearby restaurant, or details regarding a monument you’re looking at. The glasses also have picture and video taking capabilities.

Such a secret virtual display can allow one to access important information while away from their computer, and unlike a smartphone, the computer is connected right there to your face as if you were sitting at your desk. The speed and access to the Internet has been highly advanced, and could not only keep you up to date online, but also alert you when there are friends nearby, with added headshots and bios.

Google seems to have a jumpstart on this fascinating device, developing their version known as The Glass Project, which they hope to bring to the market for as little as $1,500 with added advertisements as well.

As the age of the new secret agent, wearable computers continues to develop, people may be paying less attention to their cell phones, and more to a screen mounted to their face.
