Super Wi-Fi Summit Puts White Spaces in the Spotlight

Spectrum (News - Alert) issues, backhaul opportunities, devices and equipment top agenda October 3-5 in Austin



NORWALK, CT – June 13, 2012 – The future of white space spectrum will be in the spotlight this fall, as TMC (News - Alert) and Crossfire Media today announced the agenda for the Super Wi-Fi Summit, to be held October 3-5 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. Super Wi-Fi Summit is collocated with ITEXPO, the world’s largest and best-attended communications and technology trade show.

“This is an extremely disruptive technology which could completely change how the wireless market works. The challenges, opportunities and technical issues surrounding white spaces have been one of the hottest topics in wireless broadband, and we’re excited to be bringing this discussion to a broader audience in Austin,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC and chairman of ITEXPO.

The Super Wi-Fi Summit  will cover all aspects of the white spaces market, including: spectrum issues, technical trial results and next steps, backhaul opportunities, database issues, white spaces devices, standards and more.

Rick Whitt, Director/Managing Counsel for Google (News - Alert), will kick off the conference at 9 am CST on Wednesday, October 3, with an industry perspective on white spaces. Immediately following is a panel session “From Technical Trials to Marketing Trials…What's the Next Step?” featuring speakers from Carlson Wireless, Microsoft, Keener Law Group and Adaptum. In a following session, panelists from Google, Telcordia, Microsoft and K&L Gates LLP will discuss the latest rulings from the FCC (News - Alert) on white spaces.
