Motorola Mobility has been making quite a bit of noise over the last few months. The end of last month saw Google (News
- Alert) announce that its new acquisition in Motorola Mobility was also going to have a new head.
Up and coming exec, Danny Woodside, took over the position from Sanjay Jha (News - Alert) after Apple failed in their attempt to poach Woodside from Google. It appears that one of the first things Woodside has decided to do in order to drum up interest in his new division is announce a contest with a grand prize worth more than $1,500.
Motorola (News
- Alert) Mobility announced the new contest, “Business Ready Mobile Makeover,” which will award 10 lucky winners the company’s Business Ready Mobility technology. The technology is valued up to that $1,500 price tag (News - Alert) and includes devices such as the Droid Razr Mazz, the Droid 4 and the Atrix 2.
Along with a host of smartphones, the winners will get a Droid Xyboard tablet and the Lapdock 100, as well as other accessories that will help the winners stay organized and productive.
Entrants will need to submit a video, no longer than 30 seconds, in which they detail why they need the devices that Motorola Mobility offers and how those devices will make their work day easier. The contest began May 29 and will run until July 2.
Winners will be selected based on the originality of the needs and how clearly they were stated. Of course this also means contestants should not inflate their actual needs, but instead derive real-world ways in which they could use these devices to make the work day that much better.
Motorola Mobility offers up its Business Ready line as something that is a cut above competitors’ products, because they can be set up and used easily right out of the box. The contest will seek to not only outfit a lucky winner with a suite of products, but get Google’s newly acquired toy out into the public view a little bit better.
