'AT&T Mobile Protection Pack' to Offer SMBs High Quality Cost Effective Mobility Solutions

By David Gitonga, TMCnet Contributing Writer

According to Asurion (News - Alert), a technology protection leader, despite mobile devices becoming a necessity for small business success, 1 in 4 devices will experience an incident within one year. In order to keep businesses running in case these mobile devices develop a problem, AT&T (News - Alert) has developed a suite of mobile services for small businesses. The industry-first suite, AT&T Mobile Protection Pack, will offer Mobile Insurance, Enhanced Support and Mobile Locate for mobile devices.

According to a recent AT&T Small Business Technology Poll, 85 percent of small businesses rely on smartphones while 66 percent use tablets in their line of work. With 63 percent saying that mobile technology failure would pose a major challenge to their business, it is important that small business owners protect their devices in case of theft, damage or misplacement.

According to the executive VP of AT&T Small Business Solutions, Cathy Martine, “We understand that for small business owners, mobile devices have become a lifeline for their livelihoods. With Mobile Protection Pack, we’re making it easier than ever for small business owners to quickly replace or locate their devices and get the support they need so they can spend their time doing what they do best – running their business.”

Often, small and medium-sized businesses have unique requirements when it comes to mobility and meeting even the basic services can be a costly undertaking. AT&T has created a set of tailored services that are cost effective while at the same time offering high-quality management, security and support.

The AT&T Mobile Protection Pack Mobile Insurance module allows a device replacement within a business day after a claim is approved. The Enhanced Support module offers personalized services for basic functionality such as e-mail setup and connectivity issues with a single call or click. The Mobile Locate app can be downloaded to allow lost or stolen devices to be locked and located using GPS or alarm thus keeping information secure.
