Samsung’s (News - Alert) highly anticipated GALAXY S III smartphone has finally been released and sees great reviews on mobile technology blogs and across social media sites.

Samsung’s phone is reportedly “designed for humans, but inspired by nature,” and its curved outer box design has it fit nicely in a user’s hand. The user interface, which runs a customized version of Google’s (News - Alert) Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, is designed to look like you are tapping a bowl of water.

Every time a user touches the phone, a ripple-like effect accompanies the sound of water drops.

The device comes in two colors, marble white and pebble blue, which both have a huge 4.8” HD Super AMOLED (1280x720) display, an 8MP camera, a 1.9MP front facing camera, a 2, 100mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities and a 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 Quadprocessor.

“With the GALAXY S III, Samsung has maximized the consumer benefits by integrating superior hardware with enhanced smartphone usability,” said JK Shin, president and head of IT and Mobile Communications Division at Samsung. “Designed to be both effortlessly smart and intuitively simple, the GALAXY S III has been created with our human needs and capabilities in mind.”

One new feature is called, Pop Up Play, which allows users to multi-task while watching a movie. Once enabled, the video minimizes to the home screen, allowing users to watch the movie while texting and/or finishing an email.

The mobile phone has also included a new service called ‘Natural Interaction,’ designed to enhance the experience between the user and the device. Natural Interaction can detect a users face, voice and motions, allowing it to maximized usability.

Shin reiterated the importance of having this new mobile device be reminiscent of nature. “What makes me most proud is that it enables one of the most seamless, natural and human-centric mobile experiences, opening up a new horizon that allows you to live a life extraordinary.”
