YouPorn Compromised, According to Manwin

By Miguel Leiva-Gomez, TMCnet Contributor

Manwin Holdin SARL, a Luxembourg company, just announced that YouPorn has been disabled and will remain off the hook until the green light is given by an investigation of the website. Manwin's spokeswoman, Kate Miller, mentioned that the website that was hacked ran on another server with another company, and that YouPorn on its own wasn't hacked. Still, the site had to go down as part of the investigation.

She added, "YouPorn continues to ensure that all appropriate measures and tools are in place to maintain the security of its infrastructure, and to safeguard the privacy of its users."

The numbers are still foggy regarding how many users of the third-party website were directly or indirectly affected by the attack. It seems that the chat service YouPorn uses has been compromised, however, and thousands of people had private information, such as their email addresses and passwords, leaked around the web. The viability of the attack's span isn't verified yet, and people suspect that the email addresses and passwords might not come from the service itself. Some of the email addresses, for example, were fake or no longer in use.

Manwin currently owns four of the ten most visited "tube" websites on the planet, making its boss -- Fabian Thylmann -- the biggest global pornography tycoon at the age of 32. YouPorn, on its own, is one of the top 100 visited websites in the world, based on numbers gathered by web analyst Alexa.

Kate Millersays that she can't reveal at this current moment who runs YouPorn's chat service, known as YP Chat. Although the site's down, you can still see a cached version of it on Google (News - Alert). With regards to the chat service, it says that it's an "affiliate partner program site licensed by YouPorn."

Other hackers have been at it on websites owned by Manwin, like Brazzers. This particular hacker claimed credit for the attack and posted a long list of user names and passwords used to log in to the website's interface.
