Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot: ITEXPO Ready to Descend on South Beach

By Tammy Wolf, TMCnet Web Editor

It may be cold and blustery in many parts of the U.S., but things are about to heat up in Miami – and we’re not just talking about the sun.

In a little less than two days, some of the biggest names in technology will descend on South Beach to attend TMC’s (News - Alert) ITEXPO East 2012, dubbed as this year’s largest communications conference – meaning those in attendance are bound to take home with them something other than a sunburn.

ITEXPO (News - Alert) East 2012, taking place January 31 to February 3, is not only a forum for buyers, resellers and manufacturers to meet and forge relationships. But, it’s also an educational program where attendees – from enterprises to SMBs to government agencies – can learn exactly what’s making the tech industry tick.

While ITEXPO will surely encompass a vast range of topics, from 4G and mobility to Asterisk (News - Alert) and cloud communications , we’d like to place our own bets for what will emerge as overall themes for this year’s show. So, before the big event kicks off, here are our predictions for what’s guaranteed to take South Beach to a new high temp this week:

UC: As enterprises and SMBs alike continue to get more and more innovative with how they collaborate, unified communications simultaneously continues to experience high adoption rates. With Gartner (News - Alert) predicting that 2012 is the “year of UC,” ITEXPO East 2012 is an ideal forum for seeing what works, what doesn’t.  As this technology is still rather in its infancy, ITEXPO East 2012 attendees will get a unique chance to see both sides of the UC business case, as some sessions will explore real-world tangible benefits of UC adoptions, and another will hone in on some of the red flags this business option may entail.

Cloud: With just one glance at the ITEXPO East 2012 roster, one can tell there may be a “storm” on the horizon. Not only will the three-day event be riddled with cloud-focused sessions, but Cloud Communications Expo, one of ITEXPO’s main collocated events, will be an opportunity for businesses to learn about the myriad of options available for integrating and leverage cloud-based communications applications.

HTML5: If you’re not on board with HTML5, you’re late to the party. So far, every browser company and device manufacturer has pronounced its commitment to this new language for structuring the World Wide Web. Luckily, ITEXPO will be the perfect forum for attendees to gain the information and tools they need to take advantage of this revolutionary new technology.

Be sure to check out the HTML5 DevCon5 Summit, where some of the biggest thought leaders behind companies like Adobe, Google, AT&T (News - Alert) and Samsung will reveal why they have hopped on the HTML5 bandwagon. Attendees will emerge with knowledge on what they need to know – from UI design to HTML5 business models – for successfully implementing this next-generation technology.

Want to learn more about the latest in communications and technology? Then be sure to attend ITEXPO East 2012, taking place Jan. 31-Feb. 3 2012, in Miami, FL. ITEXPO offers an educational program to help corporate decision makers select the right IP-based voice, video, fax and unified communications solutions to improve their operations. It's also where service providers learn how to profitably roll out the services their subscribers are clamoring for – and where resellers can learn about new growth opportunities.
