By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor
AFCOM Satellite Network has certified and provisioned service on its next generation satellite equipment in its new gateway ground station in Lagos. The services provided by the gateway are especially suited for the banking, oil and gas industries.
In addition, AFCOM has announced it also inked a number of transactions in the region in advance of the opening.
The company said that it has strategic plans in place for the next couple of months, and will work to increase AFCOM’s capabilities to offer reliable Broadband Internet, as well as high end VSAT services to companies.
Company officials inform that their new gateway provides high quality C Band satellite coverage throughout Nigeria and significant portions of West Africa on the latest and most advanced Intelsat (News - Alert) satellites.
Dr. Bola Awobamise, chairman of AFCOM noted that more people have begun to depend on sophisticated wireless technology due to the rapid growth in the Nigerian economy.
The organizations using this technology must have exceptional reliability and high service levels from their VSAT providers so that they can effectively compete in the world.
Dr. Bola said that AFCOM intends to be the leader in these operational characteristics, and will do so by delivering what they promise and then supporting what they deliver by exceeding customer expectations.
“Our mission is clear – to provide high value VSAT services to those entities that require a high level of service reliability and excellence in customer service from satellite service providers.”
AFCOM Satellite Network LTD offers VSAT satellite services including Broadband Internet to commercial, government and individual users in Nigeria and other countries in West Africa from its gateway in Lagos.
