Voltage Security Enhances its Enterprise Version VSN SaaS Solution
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Enterprise security company, Voltage Security, has significantly enhanced its enterprise version Voltage Security (News - Alert) Network (VSN) software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering.
Organizations can use VSN to extend policy-based encrypted communication as a “common service” to any member of their business network. This extension is made possible by a new appliance, the Voltage SecureMail Connected Gateway (News - Alert). By using this new product, everyone in each user organization’s “community of trust” can communicate seamlessly without needing multiple credentials or accounts.
The enterprise version Voltage Security Network (VSN) software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) can be deployed very quickly and features add-ons for archiving and eDiscovery. The new version also offers a streamlined user experience for Microsoft Outlook and RIM Blackberry messaging.
The company cites the example of New York’s Rochester Regional Healthcare Association that successfully extended policy-based secure communications to business networks or consortiums.
The Rochester Regional Healthcare Association is comprised of multiple healthcare providers, hospitals, labs, medical schools, researchers, health practitioners and patients. The Association leverages the Voltage service to enable seamless secure collaboration throughout the entire healthcare community. All Association member organizations and individuals are being served through a single account. These members are using the same log-in credentials for securing e-mails, files and documents.
Diane Ashley, president and CEO of the Rochester Regional Healthcare Association noted that the system gives them full control over encrypted communication based on policy without having to configure or manage anything.
Mark Bower, vice president, Product Management, Voltage Security informed that more than 74,000 customers from a broad base of companies now subscribe to Voltage Security Network.
“We expect the enhanced features in the new release will make the service even more attractive to organizations and professionals that want to extend on-demand encryption to their business networks.”
