Group Centurion Selects VoSKY for VoIP Calls

The PBX-to-Skype (News - Alert) gateway from VoSKY reportedly has been selected by international financial management service provider Group Centurion, and it seeks to save money through low-cost Internet-based Skype calls.

Though VoIP calls cut down on phone bills significantly, employees often do not get the ease and familiarity of conventional phones when using this new technology. Also, they have to work with a number of new applications which makes the process all the more complex.

To enable all employees to make, receive and transfer internet-based Skype calls in the same way as conventional phone calls, Centurion opted to connect the VoSKY-to-Skype Exchange to the E1 port on their Avaya (News - Alert) IP Office 500 phone system. VoSKY's latest gateway can support up to 30 concurrent Skype calls using E1 ISDN PRI or up to 23 calls with T1 ISDN PRI.

David Tang, global vice president of marketing for VoSKY (News - Alert), said: “VoSKY's Exchange gateways not only deliver considerable cost savings to companies in a managed way, but also enable them to increase business by making them more accessible to a more international market. The type of cost savings Centurion is experiencing is typical of what businesses using the Exchange gateways will realize savings of up to 90% over traditional telephony.”

Centurion has reported an 85 percent cut in the cost of their monthly telephone bills after the company deployed VoSKY Exchange Pro VIT1/E1. Allowing companies to take advantage of Internet Telephony (News - Alert) without replacing their existing network infrastructure, the VoSKY Exchange Pro VIT1/E1 seamlessly integrates with existing corporate PBXs with T1 or E1 digital interfaces. Now, employees do not need any Skype software, computers, or headsets to make and receive Skype calls from their regular office phone.

Recently, Hotel chain Hotetur, property of Group Marsans deployed VoSKY Exchange PBX (News - Alert)-to-Skype gateway to reduce communications costs and enhance employee productivity across its 30 sites located throughout Spain, Cuba, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. The hotel is also planning to give its customers in-room access to reduce calling costs through Skype therefore adding value to the services they offer to their clientele.
