Broadvox Helps Businesses Save with AudioCodes' VoIP/TDM Gateways

In this challenging economic climate, enterprises are looking to save wherever possible. One area where it makes sense for companies of all sizes to focus is on their telecommunications spend. Some companies might be reticent to rip out and replace their current phone system in order to find some savings.

A new offering from SIP Trunking provider Broadvox (News - Alert), in partnership with VoIP technology specialist AudioCodes enables companies to keep their current PBXs in place while leveraging the cost savings and benefits associated with SIP Trunking. And, in this economy, that’s something to crow about.

AudioCodes and Broadvox today announced that Broadvox will now offer SIP Trunking to the large number of businesses that still use TDM PBXs, by virtue of deploying AudioCodes’ Mediant 1000 Media Gateway (News - Alert). Broadvox has certified the Mediant 1000 Media Gateway as interoperable with Broadvox GO! SIP Trunking products.

The Broadvox GO! SIP Trunking solution is backed by the company’s 24x7 Network Operations Center, which constantly monitors a customer’s traffic in order to meet expectations for reliability, security and quality of service (QoS). Features of the service include enhanced 911 services, local number portability, disaster recovery, dynamic load balancing and more. While customers may purchase DSL and T1 connectivity through Broadvox if they so choose, it’s not necessary to take advantage of the service. If it makes financial sense for them to do so, enterprises can even bring their own broadband vendor.

According to David Byrd (News - Alert), Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Broadvox, “During this challenging economic period, businesses are looking for ways to save on communications costs with as little capital expenditure as possible. With Broadvox SIP Trunking and the AudioCodes Mediant 1000, businesses can start saving today without having to replace their PBX dramatically improving their ROI.”

The Mediant 1000 MSBG or multi-service business gateway is designed to provide converged Voice & Data services for Broadvox customers at wire speed. In this application, the AudioCodes gateway converts the Broadvox SIP Trunking services to TDM telephone line interfaces including T1/E1, CAS, PRI-ISDN, BRI-ISDN, analog FXS and FXO.

The Mediant 1000 is based on AudioCodes’ VoIPerfect technology, combined with enterprise class session border controller, data & voice security elements, data routing, LAN Switching and WAN Access. The gateway supports up to 120 ports.

Alan Percy (News - Alert), Director of Market Development at AudioCodes agrees with Byrd that the current economic conditions are driving businesses to make choices. He believes the combination of the AudioCodes gateway and Broadvox SIP Trunking solution is a winner.

“We see the combination of AudioCodes Mediant 1000 media gateway with Broadvox SIP Trunking solutions, as an excellent opportunity for businesses to quickly reduce their telecommunications costs and increase their profit margins,” he said.
