  • Davox Corporation, a leading developer of call management software, announced that Peter Cohen has joined the firm as director of product marketing. Cohen brings with him two decades' experience in emerging technologies and business-specific software marketing. In his new position, Cohen will engineer all promotional programs, oversee demand-generation efforts and will direct product launches. In addition, Cohen will be in charge of channel marketing and identifying strategically attractive vertical market opportunities for Davox's forthcoming Ensemble offering.

  • Easyphone, a provider of software solutions for today's universal contact center, announced the promotion of Peter Kenyon, to Chief Operating Officer, and the appointment of Kelly Bevan to Vice President Global Marketing.

  • Phasecom Inc., a developer of data and voice communications products for
    wireless and cable TV networks, announced Davidi Gilo's appointment as
    interim president and CEO. Gilo has served as the Chairman of the Board since 1996.

    Phasecom also announced the promotion of Pat Oberbillig to VP of Sales and Eric Wilson to VP of Products and Marketing. Both have extensive experience in two-way wireless communications systems.

  • VocalTec Communications Ltd. announced that Tom Evslin, Chairman and CEO of ITXC Corp, has resigned from the VocalTec Board of Directors, citing the time required by ITXC in light of that company's announcement that it has filed a registration statement with the SEC regarding a planned initial public offering. Evslin will continue his involvement with VocalTec as a Board observer, however his board seat will remain vacant pending a search for his replacement.

  • Spring Tide Networks, Inc., a developer of service-intelligent equipment for
    network service providers, has hired Gary Breitbord, former vice president of sales for Nortel Networks' Carrier Packet Solutions, as its new vice president of sales. Breitbord brings 20 years of consultative sales experience in internetworking and information technology to Spring Tide. He spent nearly seven years at Nortel Networks (formerly Bay Networks), where he recently drove sales of Nortel's core IP routing and ATM products into the North American service provider market.

  • ADC Telecommunications, Inc. named Arun Sobti as senior vice president of ADC and president of ADC's Residential Broadband Group. In this position, Sobti will be responsible for managing the Residential Broadband Group's operations including all engineering, sales and marketing initiatives.

  • Witness Systems announced the appointment of Doug Gisby to Chief Technical Officer. With his extensive international experience and strong software background in the computer telephony and telecommunications markets, Gisby will lead the company's engineering teams. In this capacity, he will be instrumental in determining product direction for the company's current offerings, as well as in developing new, multimedia technologies (such as Web, w-mail and VoIP) that meet the needs of today's expanding customer relationship management (CRM) market.

  • Global Connect Partners, Inc., a provider of international switched services, named Reed Hundt to their Board of Directors. Hundt, the former Chairman of the FCC from 1993 to 1997, presided over implementation of the historic Telecommunications Act of 1996, where he played a key role in negotiating the World Trade Organization Telecommunications agreement that helped to open markets in 69 countries around the world.

  • NETRIX Corporation, a leader in voice over data technology, announced the appointment of Microsoft manager Gregory C. McNulty to the company's Board of Directors. McNulty is Senior Group Manager of Business Development for Microsoft-WebTV Network Services managing Web TV's relationships with RBOC's, ILEC's, CLEC's and ISP's.

  • TollBridge Technologies, developer of voice over broadband solutions for Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs), announced that Betsy S. Atkins has joined TollBridge's board of directors. Atkins co-founded and served as vice president of marketing and sales for Ascend Communications. She helped develop Ascend's successful strategy to capture the global market and remains a member of Ascend's board of directors.
