- Edify Corporation has appointed Charles F.
Page to the position of vice president, North American Sales. Page brings an
extensive background of experience in sales management and marketing to this newly created
position at Edify. He will lead all of Edify's North American sales efforts, building and
enhancing Edify's direct sales team and its relationships with partners.
- IP DOMINET Solutions added 11 new offices in
Brazil and 6 offices in Argentina to its existing network. These are facilties-based ATM
locations handling IP/voice/data applications.
- AGIS, a global facility-based Internet access and data
service provider, announced the appointment of Alan V. Adams as chief
executive officer. Adams was recruited to help AGIS make the transition to a full service
provider of the next generation of convergence-based communications. Adams' background is
in wireless telephony, and he has held top positions in the wireless industry since 1986.
- Donald M. Hooton recently joined Compaq
Computers' Telecom Network Solutions Division, a Plano, TX-based business unit that
develops and supplies intelligent network and next generation communications platforms, as
director of business development. Hooton was formerly vice president of marketing and
sales for DGM&S Telecom, Inc.
- Micromuse Inc., a provider of service-level
management software, announced that it has named Kathleen Wallman to its
Board of Directors. Wallman held several senior positions at the FCC and in the White
House from 1994 until late 1997. Wallman left the White House in November 1997 to found
Wallman Strategic Consulting, LLC, providing strategic advice in the areas of
telecommunications, information technology, and communications infrastructure issues.
- NasTel Technologies, a provider of middleware
management products and solutions, announced that John E. Underwood has
been appointed chairman of its Board of Directors. Underwood is the founder and president
of Proteus International, a venture banking and venture consulting firm specializing in
the electronic, medical and technology fields.
- Davox Corporation announced that Peter Cohen
has joined the firm as director of product marketing. A former Lotus executive, Cohen
brings fifteen years of experience in emerging technologies and business-specific software
marketing. In his new position, Cohen will engineer all promotional
programs, oversee demand-generation efforts, and will direct product launches. In
addition, Cohen will help drive channel marketing programs and identify strategically
attractive vertical market opportunities for Davox's forthcoming Ensemble offering.
- RSL Communications, Ltd. announced that Amos Sela has been appointed
chief executive officer of Delta Three, Inc., RSL
COMs voice over Internet Protocol and Web communications subsidiary. Sela was most
recently director and deputy managing director of ISIS, a South African systems integrator
and software house where Sela led the diversification of the company's business from
primarily defense contracts to 90 percent public and commercial accounts.
