- William J. Rich has joined VocalData,
Inc. as president and CEO. VocalData's founder and current president, Steve Bakke,
will serve as the company's chief technology officer. Rich comes to VocalData from ICG
Telecom Group, Inc., where he launched the company's retail competitive local exchange
services and its wholesale products, and was responsible for developing ICGs
provisioning processes.
- Portal Software, Inc., a provider of software for
Internet and next-generation communications services, announced that Mike Regan
joined the company as vice president of Portal's Professional Services Group (PPSG). Regan
will assume global responsibility for the Professional Services Group, including providing
implementation consulting and management, education, and technical support services to
Portal customers.
- Sky Alland, a solution provider in customer relationship management, announced that Jeanne
Hoover has been named vice president in the company's new West Coast office in
Laguna Hills, California. Hoover will be responsible for program strategy and design for
several of the company's national accounts, including Mitsubishi Motors, as well as for
account development activities in Sky's western region.
- smallwonder softworks, inc. (SSI)
announced the recent hiring of Kimberly R. Ehmke as administrative
assistant to Bill Maynard, the chief marketing officer.
- Woody Benson, CEO of MCK Communications,
Inc., a developer of remote voice solutions for telecommuters, remote call center
agents, executives and branch offices, was honored as CEO of the Year by the Massachusetts
Telecommunications Council at their Third Annual Awards Ceremony in Boston.
- 3Com Corporation named Irfan Ali as
senior vice president and general manager of 3Com Carrier Systems. Ali, who over the past
few months has served as vice president and acting general manager of the Carrier Systems
Business Unit, will be responsible for providing networking solutions for the full
spectrum of telecom carriers -- from the smallest alternative service providers through
the ILECs and CLECs to the world's largest interexchange carriers. In his new position,
Ali will be responsible for leading the overall strategic and business operations of
Carrier Systems, including sales, marketing and research and development.
- Aristacom International has changed its name to Line4,
Inc. This new name reflects the rapid changes that technology is having on
businesses today, most significantly the Internet. "Our current product line provides
support for customer access to corporate information via most forms of communications
today," said Russ Blake, Line4's Director of Business Development and Marketing.
"We shall be announcing, at an aggressive pace, new Products and Services that
integrate more seamlessly computer-based information with the enterprise's entire
communications sub-system."
