RocketTalk's Free Internet Voice Messaging Service Debuts
RocketTalk, Inc. announced the full release of
its flagship product, RocketTalk the planets first and only free voice messaging
system. RocketTalk allows users to send voice messages quickly and easily over the
Internet to other registered RocketTalk users and to e-mail accounts, as well.
With just a few mouse clicks, RocketTalk users can record, address and send their
messages through RocketTalks central message server. RocketTalk sends and receives
messages in the background, eliminating lengthy waits as messages download. Further,
RocketTalk uses a custom compression algorithm to keep message file sizes small. Users can
continue with other Internet activities while message files download with virtually no
decrease in access speed.
RocketTalk is the first free service of its type that will provide new options in
communications for its users, stated Jeff Weiner, President of RocketTalk, Inc.
Talking is much faster than typing for most of us, and verbal messages are much
better at conveying the full intent and emotional content of the speakers message,
as well.
RocketTalk requires a multimedia computer (with sound card, speakers, mouse and
microphone) and an Internet connection. The products user interface is designed so
that virtually anyone can use it from the very young to the very old, and everyone in
between. Typical users include families with members in other states or countries;
telecommuters, mobile workers, and other professionals; those who dont, cant,
or simply prefer not to type; and users who prefer a more personal method of
messaging.
In the initial release, RocketTalk is available for computers running Windows 95, 98,
or NT. The product includes a Composition panel, with record, playback, addressing and
sending options; an Inbox with subject, time and date stamping and reply/forward options;
a Contact list with search capabilities; and a User Profile, which allows users to provide
certain personal information to other users, if desired. Users may also choose options for
privacy and/or availability.
Version 1.2.58 includes the ability to send RocketTalk messages to non-RocketTalk
users e-mail boxes, along with a small utility called the RocketPlayer for
decompression and playback. Rocket Player allows anyone, anywhere to receive and play
RocketTalk messages through their e-mail account. The new version also includes automatic
updating, which will download newer versions of RocketTalk as they are released.
