RadiSys Partners With Trillium To Offer
Hardware And Software Carrier-Class Solutions For SS7 Applications
RadiSys Corp. announced the
signing of an agreement
with Trillium Digital Systems, that
paves the way for the availability of
carrier-class SS7solutions for communications equipment manufacturers.
As a result of this partnership, RadiSys' ARTIC 1107 CompactPCI
SS7 Adapter will be certified under the "Trillium on Board"
partner program
for both MTP-2 and High-Speed Signaling Link (HSL) board level
implementations. By providing MTP-2 and HSL capability on the same
adapter,
RadiSys' customers can address existing SS7 infrastructure, as well as the
emerging HSL infrastructure, with a single adapter.
Additionally, this certification allows for the future integration
of full SS7 stacks on the ARTIC 1107. This will give RadiSys' customers a
complete integrated carrier-class level of hardware and software --
featuring a system enclosure, DSP technologies and the SS7 protocol
software
stacks together with support for high reliability and availability --
needed
to bring their SS7 applications to market at an accelerated rate.
"By providing a full SS7 software stack already integrated and
certified into the ARTIC 1107, our customers can focus on their core
competency and not worry about the software stack integration and testing,
which typically slows their time to market," said Richard Smith, Vice
President, RadiSys.
"Our partnership with RadiSys will provide another path towards
working with Trillium's SS7 software that will significantly decrease
development work by greatly reducing the integration efforts of combining
our source code onto the Radisys ARTIC 1107 platform," said Matt
Semenza,
director - OEM/Partner Alliances. "We are pleased by RadiSys'
commitment to
provide a certified Trillium on Board market solution."
RadiSys' ARTIC 1107 is a high-performance single-slot, CompactPCI
adapter that provides a total of up to 128 SS7 links, giving
communications
equipment manufacturers the industry's leading density for carrier-class
SS7
applications. The ARTIC 1107 features two PCI mezzanine cards (PMCs) which
provides support for both serial (V.35, RS-449, RS-232) and channelized
T1/E1/J1 SS7 and HSL worldwide. This gives customers a quicker time to
market and a reduction in their integration cost, since they have fewer
components to support; fewer boards to certify; and can migrate from MTP-2
to HSL as standards and their product deployments evolve.
Trillium Digital Systems' SS7 software solution enables
communications equipment manufacturers to develop telephony switches,
wireless infrastructure equipment, Intelligent Network (IN) and Internet
Telephony gateway and gatekeeper products that can be easily implemented
by
customers targeting the telecom market. Trillium has licensed its proven
SS7
software solutions to over 100 companies for use in a wide range of
telephony, wireless and Internet gateway products.
SS7 (Signaling System 7) is the technology that allows the
convergence of the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and the
Internet
protocol (IP) networks to take place.
RadiSys' ARTIC 1107 CompactPCI SS7 Adapter with the lower level SS7
software protocol will be available in Q4.
