MUSIC Telecom Gains Marketing And Distribution
Rights For Calista's Digital-To-Analog Voice-Logging Interface Product
MUSIC Telecom, Inc., and
Cisco Systems, Inc. announced the
signing of an agreement under which
Cisco Systems will license MUSIC Telecom to exclusively manufacture and
distribute its PBXmedia DAC 16. This product belongs to the collection of
telephony boards used to integrate with proprietary digital PBXs such as
Nortel, Siemens, Ericsson, and others. The PBXmedia DAC 16 was acquired
from
Calista, Ltd., a subsidiary of Cisco Systems, which is a leading provider
of
integration products for the Digital PBX (Private Branch Exchanges).
The innovative use of Calista's new Smart-Tap technology to support
start/stop recording, combined with pure digital voice quality, provides
MUSIC
Telecom's customers with the clearest, most consistent voice-logging
interface
product available on the market.
PBXmedia DAC 16 is a 16-port ISA interface card that allows digital
call
recording equipment to extract voice from digital PBX extensions. It is
then
presented to the call recording device over the system's CT bus in a
standard
digital format (MVIP or SCSA). This method provides a superior solution to
the
traditional Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) because it avoids the
unnecessary digital-to-analog conversion. PBXmedia DAC 16 replaces both
the
traditional DAC and analog card, providing higher quality voice recording,
simplifying the solution, and reducing the cost of the entire voice
recording
system.
Moshe Tal, President of MUSIC Telecom comments, "We are delighted
with
this agreement and believe that the Cisco boards, sold alongside our
Network
Telephony Integration (NTI) boards, represent a unique technology that
addresses the burgeoning call center/logging market."
