Main Course Technologies Uses Internet To Display
Timely Tracking Of People Or Belongings On Handheld Devices
Main Course Technologies, a
developer of wireless applications utilizing Global Positioning Satellite
(GPS) technology for display on the Web, has joined the Phone.com
Alliance Program as a developer of online tracking services.
This alliance facilitates the ongoing integration of Internet and
wireless technology. Using their mobile phone's built-in UP.Browser
microbrowser from Phone.com, Main Course Technologies provides subscribers
the ability to pin-point the location of fleet vehicles, family members,
or other assets or belongings, from their mobile phones, or other handheld
devices.
Main Course Technologies (MCT) utilizes Global Positioning Satellite
technology to locate a person, vehicle or other asset, and then displays
the location on detailed street maps via the Internet on its www.mctworldwide.com
site.
"We look forward to working closely with Phone.com to continue the
roll-out of our new application. This will facilitate peace of mind,
increase efficiency and generate cost savings," said Pat Coggins,
chief architect of Main Course Technologies.
"Main Course Technologies has the only open-architecture tracking
system which supports all wireless devices -- including the Sprint
Browserphone; the Alcatel Browserphone; RIM's Blackberry, Series 850 and
Series 950 interactive pagers; Qualcomm-Kyocera's pdQ smartphone, and many
others. MCT enables service for them all via Phone.com's unique
microbrowser interface that links mobile phone users to the Internet or
corporate Intranets."
Main Course Technologies plans to integrate its MCTWorldwide.com
Tracking Service with Phone.com's interactive UP.Browser software to
deliver enhanced applications for mobile phones. Using Main Course
Technologies' new application, mobile phone users will have the ability to
verify the location of any tracked device virtually anywhere on the face
of the globe.
The Phone.com Alliance Program has two aims: to promote the concept of
wireless information access, and to coordinate the exchange of ideas and
information among Alliances Program members, other companies developing
wireless Internet products and services, and Phone.com's network
operators.
Main Course Technologies joins a growing list of alliance providers
that includes content providers, application developers, tools providers
and systems integrators using the Phone.com Product Family.
