TranSwitch, OptiX Networks Partner To Develop
VLSI Devices For Converged Networks
TranSwitch Corporation, a
leading developer and global supplier of innovative high-speed VLSI (very
large-scale integration) solutions for communications applications, announced that it has
entered into a strategic technology partnership and OEM agreement with the
newly formed OptiX Networks, a privately-held, Boston-based company, which
specializes in designing, developing and marketing VLSI solutions serving
the broadband optical backbone market.
The first OptiX chipset is targeted to support the evolving worldwide
markets of both WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) transport and
optical switching, which are key components in serving the worldwide
telecommunications and data communications markets.
