Vianet Technologies And CyberStorage Systems Partner To
Provide Next-Generation Video Delivery Solutions
Vianet Technologies, Inc., an innovator
in the development and integration of streaming video delivery technology and systems, and
CyberStorage Systems Corporation, a designer and developer of unique capture and delivery
systems and management products, announced today a strategic partnership to bring
next-generation video delivery solutions to market.
The alliance combines Vianet's high-quality compression software with CyberStorage's high-speed delivery software and
hardware. Together, they offer the world's fastest video delivery server systems for
high-performance interactive video-on-demand (VOD), multicast and video conferencing.
Under the provisions of the agreement, Vianet is the primary video compression technology
supplier, while CyberStorage is the primary video server systems supplier. The partnership
allows both companies to sell the combined delivery solution to customers.
"The combination of advanced video delivery technologies to address bandwidth
issues at both the software and hardware levels is a major leap forward in Internet access
to multimedia," said Jeremy Posner, Chairman of Vianet Technologies.
"CyberStorage shares our vision for offering our customers the most advanced media
solution available for the diverse communications needs of Internet and intranet users,
regardless of existing infrastructure or connectivity."
Vianet's video compression technology generates high-quality video files that retain
image and motion integrity, without being too large to deliver through standard corporate
network or Internet gateways. CyberStorage contributes real-time software and hardware
expertise and servers, maximizing delivery speed and enabling VOD, multicast and video
conferencing for both Internet and corporate network environments. This combination of
cutting-edge software and hardware results in an advanced video delivery system far
superior to any others on the market, capable of delivering speeds up to 1,800 megabits
per second of sustained data today, and up to 3,700 megabits per second at the turn of the
century.
"Our expertise in open, scalable and high-speed system design is the optimal
complement to Vianet's innovation in Wavelet compression technology," said John
Thonet, President and CEO of CyberStorage. "Since bandwidth is an issue felt
universally, our solution will ease the pain at all levels. Broadband service providers
and converging telecommunication companies will receive significant benefits from this
approach, along with ISPs, corporate administrators and desktop users."
