Melita International Acquires smallwonder! softworks, Inc.
Corum Group announced today the sale of its
client, smallwonder! softworks, Inc., a leading developer of automated solutions for
medium and large call centers, to Melita International.
Under the terms of the agreement, Melita will obtain the rights to smallwonder's
intellectual property, and products will be sold, distributed and supported by Melita and
its channel partners. Smallwonder's Virginia office will continue to be used as a
development and support site.
According to Larry Mancini, Regional Director, Southeast at the Corum Group,
"smallwonder's well designed solutions, in addition to Melita's leading technology
and powerful organization, create a winning combination. We expect to dominate the market
space smallwonder has traditionally targeted."
Along with Melita, smallwonder has been a technology leader in developing call center
management systems for nearly a decade. Established in 1988, smallwonder has installed
thousands of stations in mid to large size call centers for customers conducting customer
service, telesales, fund raising, marketing research, polling and collections. The
NT-based, web-enabled computer telephony software brought a radical new vision of call
center technology to the market. The firm's first system utilized desktop PCs in a client
server relationship, where data in every customer transaction was read from and written to
a file server, keeping everything in one centralized location. Over time, this system
evolved into what today is XChange 3.0, a Windows NT network and telephony server with
Windows 98 at the agent desktop.
As a leading customer contact solutions provider since 1983, call centers in many
industries turn to Melita for telemarketing, customer interaction, collections and
customer service technology. Melita's applications allow businesses to automate their call
centers while enhancing support and providing superior customer service. With more than
600 customer sites in 30 countries on six continents, Melita holds 34 patents worldwide
for computer telephony integration (CTI) voice processing and predictive dialing.
