Telamon Upgrades Wireless Notification And
Response System For Field Service Applications
Telamon, Inc. announced it has
released Version 5.0 for TelAlert, the company's solution for critical
message delivery to and from the field. This industry leading system for
wireless notification and remote response, enables wireless devices to
integrate seamlessly with back office applications redefining the entire
concept of field trouble-shooting.
"In this release, we added a GUI interface for easier
administration and a
redesigned Web client for sending, responding to and managing messages
from
any Web browser. In addition, we enhanced our existing support for
Internet
protocols and two-way paging services. With v5.0 we now support SNMP which
lets us send event data to other SNMP applications, and we now provide
two-way Internet paging via SNPP, further strengthening TelAlert's appeal
to help desk and field service industries," said Susan Trout,
Telamon's
Director of Marketing.
For Lucent, TelAlert was integrated into Skytel SkyWriters to offer
two-way
TME-based paging and facilitate the mobility of the company's field
service
professionals. The TelAlert-enabled wireless solution allowed Lucent to
speed information to the technician for rapid customer response and
improved
service call quality. In addition it automated the billing process, by
allowing the field service technicians to transmit wireless data to that
application in the back office.
For Raley's technician Craig Benson, TelAlert's v5.0 is a definite
must.
"Raley's Information Services helpdesk infrastructure is comprised of
12
different Level 2 resources - ranging from store systems to point of sale
and from warehouse to human resources. When
any of these 12 disciplines fail, Raley's Technical Assistance Center
provides 7x24 Level 1 technical support. If escalation is required, we
need
a reliable interface to our paging system. Telamon's TelAlert provides us
that reliability. Coupled with its ease of use, simple configuration and
strong integration to our helpdesk tool, it completes our notification
workflow."
TelAlert helps mobile professionals by supporting wireless devices that
can
act as interfaces for any back-office application, and connects them to
the
office from wherever they may be. TelAlert's communication capabilities
have
become even greater with the array of new features delivered by v5.0,
including a familiar Windows environment, multi-user administrative
capabilities, increased access supporting a wider selection of Internet
paging services and protocols, improved Web Client, easier installation,
support for modem sharing and improved support for Dialogic telephony
cards
on PBX Systems. TelAlert server runs on Windows NT, and over 13 different
UNIX platforms. TelAlert clients run on all these systems and LINUX,
MPE/iX, OpenVMS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95/98 and Windows2000. TelAlert 5.0
is available and shipping now starting at $3000.
