GSMA Announces Winners of the 2015 Global Mobile Awards
The GSMA today announced the winners of the 20th Global
Mobile Awards, which were presented this afternoon at the GSMA Mobile
World Congress in Barcelona. The winners were announced in a ceremony
hosted by actor, comedian, writer and film producer John Cleese.
Cleese, best known for the Monty Python TV and film series, as well as
Fawlty Towers and countless film appearances, opened the ceremony in an
irreverent style, referring to the audience as "technical geeks" and
recalling his experiences of hotel service on his global travels. He was
joined on stage to present the awards by Jon Fredrik Baksaas, Chairman,
of the GSMA and President and CEO of Telenor Group, Anne Bouverot,
Director General of the GSMA and John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA Ltd., as well
as representatives from Telefónica, Time/Fortune and Gamelab.
"We warmly congratulate all those honoured today," said John Hoffman,
CEO, GSMA Ltd. "The GSMA is very proud to be celebrating the 20th
anniversary of the Global Mobile Awards, which provide an outstanding
platform to recognise world leaders in mobile innovation and diversity.
It is an incredible achievement to have been announced as a Global
Mobile Award winner today, as the high calibre of entries is a true
reflection of the dynamic, creative and inventive thinking that will
