HelloSoft Unveils VoIP Solution for LTE Devices

Companies and developers often try to achieve a seamless handoff between VoIP on the 4G LTE (News - Alert) networks, as doing so would bring about a truly seamless mobile voice experience.

Taking a step closer in that direction, HelloSoft has extended its carrier proven VoIP and Voice Call Continuity (VCC) solution suite to future 4G-LTE devices. HelloSoft’s recently released, award winning VoIP and VCC Convergence (News - Alert) Client Software platform for Android mobile devices also supports VoIP over LTE (VoLTE).

Looking to provide a complete platform for VoIP and VCC on Beceem’s (News - Alert) new 4G multi-com chip that supports LTE and WiMAX, HelloSoft is extending its partnership with Beceem. Already, both the companies have enabled VoIP and VCC solutions to run on 4G-WiMAX devices.

The RISC-only VOIP and complete convergence solutions from HelloSoft are based on in-house hardware and software enable superior quality uninterrupted IP-based enterprise and consumer voice, video and data services.

Allan Johnson (News - Alert), senior vice president, marketing and business Development at HelloSoft, said, “ As the networks upgrade and LTE adoption gains pace, VoLTE will experience strong adoption. The combined Beceem 4G-LTE/WiMAX chipset, together with the Titan Android (News - Alert) Convergence Client, brings together two industry firsts from leaders in their respective industries. HelloSoft Android Titan Convergence Client offers mobile device manufacturers a complete solution for Android.”

The session hand-off between WiMAX and LTE is a key enabler for HelloSoft to show its VCC and convergence software client and Beceem’s 4G-LTE/WiMAX chip is designed to support this. This will allow ODMs and OEMs to build a wide range of exciting next generation 4G LTE and WiMAX devices, states the company.

Recently, the company launched its ultra low-power IP Convergence Platform and claims that it is five times more power efficient than existing solutions. The new chip, HS100, combines HelloSoft’s patented technologies for advanced ultra low-power ARM processor and patented SmartWLAN, and the company’s complete convergence software suite. The HS100 supports UMA and interfaces for 2G/3G/4G (LTE/WiMAX) connectivity and co-existence algorithms.
