Flash for Google Android Phones? Sweet!
By Marisa Torrieri, TMCnet Editor
One of the biggest qualms gadget gurus have had with Google (News
) Android phones is lack of Flash power.
But soon Google will add the ability to play Flash videos to the Android mobile phone OS, Google product manager Eric Tseng told reporters at the Mobile World Congress (News
) in Barcelona.
It’s no secret Internet search giant’s making this move ASAP to differentiate its platform from that of frenemy
Apple, maker of iPhone. Currently the iPhone does not support Flash, nor does Microsoft’s (News
) just-announced Windows Phone 7 series.
“By working closely with Adobe we can tie the Flash runtime directly into the high-end hardware in these devices,” Tseng told reporters.
