Comsys Mobile Showcase First WiMAX Android Smartphone Reference Design


Comsys (News - Alert) Mobile will be demonstrating the industry’s first multimode mobile WiMAX/GSM-EDGE Android (News - Alert) Smartphone reference design at Mobile World Congress. Visitors will be able to see multiple applications running on top of Android and Windows Mobile, driven by our ComMAX CM1125 reference design platforms. Comsys Mobile specializes in communication processors for 4G mobile devices.
 
ComMAX CM1125 optimized handset reference design platforms provide a complete solution with pre-integrated ecosystem from selected partners, incorporating all the features and functionalities required of Smartphones – from antenna up to application processor. OEM/ODMs receive a complete pre-integrated form-factor solution reducing development costs and accelerating time to market.
 
In addition to multimode mobile WiMAX/GSM-EDGE, CM1125 reference designs integrate WLAN, BT (News - Alert), FM radio and GPS connectivity, including multi-radio coexistence for enhanced user experience with anytime, anywhere connectivity.

CM1125 reference design platforms are enabled by the CM1125 baseband, Comsys Mobile’s unique multimode mobile WiMAX-GSM-EDGE processor. Optimized for handsets and other hand-held devices, the CM1125 provides seamless handover between WiMAX and GSM-EDGE, exceptionally low power operation, a highly embedded PHY/MAC, and high vehicular speed support.
 
Recently, Comsys Mobile and HelloSoft have together announced a low cost Android WiMAX , GSM and WiFi (News - Alert) reference design at the 2010 Mobile World Congress. HelloSoft’s VoIP and convergence client suite for Android is one feature offered in this design.
