Openwave to Introduce Enhanced Context-Aware Mediation Solutions

Openwave Systems (News - Alert) Inc., a provider of context-aware mediation and messaging solutions that help communication service providers and the broader ecosystem to create and deliver smarter services, has reportedly announced that it is going to display its new offerings at the Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) 2010, to be held in Barcelona Feb. 15-18.

The company also introduced its newly designed web site and corporate blog at the occasion.

At the mobile event, Openwave will exhibit its new solutions in the Openwave Hospitality Suite. These solutions have been grouped into different categories such as “Traffic Mediation,” which consists of an enhanced context-aware intelligent policy management solution offered by Openwave. The solution will enable operators to monitor and manage their network utilization at a user, device and application level in a better way, and addresses the rising tide of mobile broadband data consumption.

“Data Mediation and Analytics” is another category, which includes the solutions that help operators in leveraging mobile analytics to extract information that forms the basis for staying on top of network resources from an operational standpoint while simultaneously offering personalized services that improve customer satisfaction. Further, the “Messaging Solutions” category comprises Openwave’s suite of mobile, e-mail and voice solutions that simplify the different modes of messaging moving across an operator’s network, utilizing the IP-based, bandwidth-optimized technologies.

According to Ken Denman, CEO, Openwave, company’s solutions are designed to help enable operators and others within the mobile ecosystem to create and deliver smarter services. Denman said it is no secret that many operators are already feeling the pinch from the explosive demand for mobile content and data services, signifying the end of the distinctly mobile web and signaling the beginning of one web that is accessible across all devices. Openwave’s solutions help operators compete in this new un-tethered, all-IP age while helping them to effectively manage and monetize traffic by providing a clear picture of what is happening on the network, Denman added.

At Mobile World Congress 2010, Openwave is also going to host two roundtables that will focus upon current industry topics such as “4G Strategies for Success” and “Data Mediation and Mobile Analytics.”

Recently, Openwave Systems Inc (News - Alert)., had reportedly entered a partnership with Digital Solutions Group or ‘DSG’, an African outsource provider for total fixed-mobile convergence or ‘FMC’ solutions, and relationship marketing. The new partnership enabled DSG to distribute Openwave products while also providing value-added professional services to operators in Africa and sub-Saharan markets.
